The Name is Bond- James Bond!
Ravishing redheads, bronzed brunettes and honey blondes will be taking to the fairways this winter as the ladies’ league gets underway. The ladies’ committee have been on Her Majesty’s Secret Service and have decided to name the teams after James Bond films, so we can expect lively tussles, passionate playing and high drama from now until Christmas! Already Margaret’s Moonrakers have an astronomical lead- Sheila Horner must have thought that she was being chased by Jaws as she scored an amazing 19 points for her team.
Adele will be delighted that Sheena’s Skyfall are close behind and some of us will have to hack into both Sheena and Elaine’s golf bags if they are both going score so well each week. However, if World War Three is to be averted, we will have to rely on Olly’s Octopussies to cartwheel to the rescue. Ros Millar must have felt like a Bond girl after scoring 19 points- an all time high according to Rita Collidge.
Top Scorer for Tara’s Thunderballs was Fiona Cummins who must have been getting skype lessons from America with love, to ensure that the family name is mentioned in despatches. Grizel’s Goldfingers are on a similar score to Tara’s Thunderballs but beware- the heart is cold- it loves only gold!
And as for Lily’s License to Kill or thrill – the team did neither- despite a heroic effort from Pam Morrow. Q will be demanding them to hand over their weapons and revoking their licences. Julie Jordan turned up!
