
Local Rules
Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)

Beyond any wall, hedge, fence, white stakes or beyond any white line defining the boundary of the course.
Where there is an inner and outer fence, the inner fence marks the boundary.
On or over the white lines in the vicinity of the greenkeepers’ shed.
Area defined by the course side edge of the white posts/stakes surrounding the putting green and 10th tee.
Where out of bounds is defined by white stakes, the boundary is defined by the line between the course-side points of the stakes at ground level (excluding angled supports), and these stakes are out of bounds.

Internal Out of Bounds:

When playing the 7th hole, the 6th fairway and the ground to the right of it as far as the white posts on the 6th hole near the 6th tee box.
When playing the 15th hole, beyond the drain and line of white posts to the left of the 15th hole.

Ground under Repair (GUR) Rule 16
​​
Any area bounded by a white line or marked GUR.

Drop from paths and roads on the course
​​
A ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped within 1 club length from your nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole. Note that your nearest point of relief may leave you in a less favourable position so ensure you assess that before lifting your ball. If you choose to take a drop full relief from the path must be taken.

Drop from immovable obstructions near the putting green (e.g. Spinkler Heads)

A ball within two club lengths of an immovable obstruction that lies within two club lengths of the putting green (such as a sprinkler head) may be lifted, cleaned and dropped within one club length, not nearer the hole, on the putting green or in a bunker.

Immovable obstructions include:
​
- all paths, roads, sleepers/steps
- white posts defining Out of Bounds playing the 7th & 15th holes ONLY when playing another hole
​​
Integral objects:
​​
- the ruins of the old house on the 7th hole
- support poles of power lines
​
A ball striking power cables MUST be replayed
​​
No Play Zones
​​
Relief MUST be taken from temporary greens when not in use.
​​
Protection of Young Trees​
​
The young trees identified by stakes are no play zones: If a player's ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player's stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.

Use of Buggies
​​​
Buggies & Trollies must not be taken onto the teeing area or within 3 yards of the putting green.
Subject to course conditions the use of buggies on a given day may be prohibited for all players.

Practising on the Course Rule 5.2b
​​
Local Rule 5.2b
A player may not practise on the competition course before or between rounds in a competition played over consecutive days. For example, in an 18 hole competition in which a player either plays on a Friday or Saturday, a player may NOT practice on the course on either day regardless of which day the player is playing his/her round.
Penalty for Breach of Rule 5.2b:

Penalty for first breach: General Penalty (applied to the player’s first hole).

Penalty for second breach: Disqualification.
